Ready to Launch

Current students and graduates of the Capital District Women’s Employment & Resource Center (WERC) recently attended “First Impressions – Second Chances,” our annual networking event.

WERC offers in-person and online training courses to assist students with resumes, interviewing practice, job search tips, and computer knowledge. Events like this provide them with opportunities to expand their networks, build confidence, and connect directly with employers. Here’s what some of our students and graduates had to say about our program:

  • “WERC gave me the confidence I needed to re-enter the workforce after years away.”
  • “The resume help and interview practice were exactly what I needed to land my new job.”
  • “First Impressions – Second Chances helped me make connections I never thought possible.”

We are proud to support each student on their path to success.

For information about future training classes and workshops, please call (518) 242-8249.

Eligibility: To qualify as a Displaced Homemaker, someone has lost their source of support due to divorce, separation, or their spouse’s job loss, disability or death. Single mothers or women who are pending loss of public assistance benefits also qualify for WERC’s training programs.
