The Center, primarily funded through the NYS Department of Labor's
Displaced Homemaker Program, serves between 200 and 300 women per year from the
Capital Region of New York State, including Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga,
Columbia, and Greene counties.
HOW WELL DOES IT WORK?
2006-2007 at the Women's Employment &
Resource Center:

275 women received services from
WERC.

200 women received career readiness
and computer training.

83% of graduates receiving
intensive workforce preparation services found
employment.

Graduates were employed at an
average wage of $10.50 plus benefits.

Many of our working graduates
upgraded their employment during the past year, earning
salary increases, better benefit packages, or a
promotion on the job.
